Just as they began eyebrow waxing sessions to start recording their first album Schrei, Sony annulled their contract.
Without the two piercings and the band tattoo on his neck, Bill Kaulitz, vocalist of Tokio Hotel, (a mix between Beetlejuice and Gokú on his last Kame Hame ha) was losing a bet against his twin brother Tom (guitarist of the band with dread braids, hiphop attire, and the most popular among girls). "Whoever kisses her first won't sing on Star Search", German talent show, proposed Tom. We don't know if with tongue or no tongue, but Tom won and forced Bill to participate in the show and, with his voice, drove the audience crazy. The musical career of the first two was made. The sexual awakening awaits!
With Georg (bass and keyboard) and Gustav (drums) in the band -musicians that speak only to ask where the bathroom is, who the twins met later in one of their Magdeburg shows, their native city-, Germany now had their pop rock group for beardless adolescents. A little tease: with skinny leather pants, shoulder pads made out of feathers, plenty of black eyeliner and hair spray, the singer of the band, Bill Kaulitz, comes out from under the stage on a futuristic motorcycle. Suddenly, a special platform elevates Gustav's drums meanwhile Tom begins to play the piano.
The pyrotechnics and special effects do their thing. It is the largest production from the band. The screams are heard. The concert begins with Noise. Bill makes a fan go up and... What? Q: What is the most strange lie that has been told about any member of the band?
A: I remember a rumor that circulated on the Internet in which they said that I (Bill) had died from an overdose. Which was humorous to me.
Q: Do you have a ritual before starting a tour?
A: Before each concert we always go to the bathroom to do number two. And the truth is, it has always brought us luck.
Q: Do you have in mind adding something about your South American tour on your Internet show Tokio Hotel TV?
A: Of course. Every time we go on tour we bring along a camera man to take shots of our stay in the country. Then we upload them on the Internet and that's how we get our fans to participate on our lives and what we do.
Q: Did you know anything about our country before including Perú on your South American tour?
A: No. But, as always, we will let our selves be surprised while being there. We know we have some fantastic fans that support us a lot. We will be super happy to meet them for the first time.
Q: What served as inspiration to write the song In your Shadow?
A: One always carries behind one's shadow, with which one can prosper mutually. And, somehow, this song represents a link of union that we have as twins. We could not live one without the other.
Q: Was it hard to change languages to record the English album?
Yes. In this last album it was hard work, since we have to translate the lyrics from German to English to then record them. We spent a lot of time on the album's production, especially taking into account that we are true perfectionists.
7 curious facts of the Kaulitz twins
1. Tom loves typewriting and graffiti, but hates Mathematics and physics. He is a heart-breaker and dreams to cross paths with Angelina Jolie or Ashley Olsen.
2. Bill is 10 minutes younger than Tom, loves teddy bears, has not kissed anyone in 4 years, his favorite deodorant is Dove and hates it when watermelons have lots of seeds.(?!)
3. Their first kiss was with the same girl. Tom was first. They were both 9 years old. Usually, they dream the same thing.
4. Bill's grandmother nicknamed him Maky because he loves to eat at McDonalds. In his spare time he loves to draw and design new clothes, he is allergic to mosquito bites, his favorite band is Green Day and the tv series: Friends.
5. Tom has a phobia for sharks, confessed that the song Reden is based on an affair he had with a fan one night in his hotel room. He loves to sleep, his favorite tv show is: The Girls Next Door and loves pasta with tomato sauce and Parmesan cheese.
6. Bill says he is not gay, his favorite porn movie stars Paris Hilton. Even though his perfect date would be along with the Olsen twins. Of course, if one of them bites her nails, she is out.
7. Tom had an overdose of viagra when they were celebrating a party with various admirers in a hotel of the Taiwanese capital. Bill commented: "There's no need for him to take that garbage. He still spends the day permanently excited".

La banda alemana dará su primer concierto en el Perú el jueves 25 en el Jockey Club. Bill y Tom Kaulitz prometieron un gran show
“Van a ver más o menos el mismo espectáculo que hemos ofrecido en la gira europea. Lo que pasa es que no vamos a poder ofrecer exactamente la misma producción. Pero no cabe duda de que va a ser espectacular. Nos llevamos toda nuestra ropa; además, vamos a tocar las canciones del nuevo álbum”, detalla por teléfono Bill Kaulitz sobre su próxima presentación.
El show que ofrecerán el 25 de este mes en el Jockey Club presentará una estética futurista inspirada en su último disco: “Humanoid” (2009), que recoge diversos elementos de la ciencia ficción. Claro que, dentro del ‘set list’, presentarán temas de toda su trayectoria como “Moonson”, “Ready, Set, Gol”, “Humanoid” y “Automatic”.
Desde que formaron la agrupación, hace una década, los gemelos Bill (voz) y Tom (guitarra) Kaulitz junto con Georg Listing (bajo y teclados) y Gustav Schäfer (batería) comenzaron tocando en pequeños pubs antes de hacerse conocidos. Por eso aprendieron a tomar con calma el esplendor que llega con la fama.
“Entendemos lo que se siente cuando la gente no te conoce, aunque ahora también hemos visto cuál es la otra cara de la moneda. Para permanecer centrados, recordamos lo que se sentía al principio cuando nadie nos conocía”, explica el vocalista.
Si bien no saben mucho acerca de nuestro país, Bill y Tom se mostraron emocionados por tocar en Lima por primera vez y dejarse sorprender por el Perú. Pero no necesariamente por la gastronomía o el paisaje, sino por algo más cercano a ellos: los fans.
“Creo que lo más bonito que uno puede ver es cuando se encuentra por primera vez con ellos. Esas reacciones, sobre todo cuando uno está tan lejos de casa, forman un momento mágico”, comparte Tom. Su gemelo no se queda atrás y completa la idea con un agradecimiento para todos sus seguidores. “La energía que desprenden es increíble. Por eso los queremos tanto. Amamos a nuestros fans. Ellos no viven la música, sino que viven Tokio Hotel”, añade.
Por el momento, el grupo alemán está enfocado en su gira latinoamericana que los llevará posteriormente a Chile y a México. Si bien confirmaron que tienen un nuevo proyecto en marcha, no quieren adelantar mucho al respecto. Lo que sí aseguraron es que continuarán grabando en inglés y que su próximo destino es Tokio, la ciudad con la que siempre soñaron.

TOKIO HOTEL HARÁ DONACIÓN EN SU VISITA A CHILE
Entregarán una sala de música a una escuela de escasos recursos de la capital
El grupo musical Tokio Hotel que viene por primera vez al país, no sólo realizará el concierto, sino que participarán del proyecto llamado “MusicalMente”.
A partir del proyecto, donarán una sala de música más una biblioteca a una escuela de bajos recursos de Santiago y serán padrinos. Todo esto en el backstage del concierto el domingo 28 de noviembre en Movistar Arena.
Por otra parte, Bill Kaulitz, cantante y frontman del grupo, dice que “Vamos con lo que consideramos la producción de nuestros sueños, la más grande y de mayor calidad que hemos tenido. Se van a sorprender nuestros fans de Chile”.

Desde europa, en los premios MTV 2010, había sólo un ganador. Y su nombre es Tokio Hotel.
En la categoría "Best World Stage Performance" (mejor actuación en MTV World Stage) el premio cayó en los cuatro de Magdeburgo - y tienen que estar orgullosos ya que competian con estrellas americanas, tales como la gata del pop Katy Perry y los rockeros Green day.
El honor del pop de este continente ha sido honrado!
PERO, EUROPA: ¿DÓNDE ESTÁN LAS SUPER ESTRELLAS?
Aparte de los chicos de Tokio Hotel, los premios estuvieron dominados sólo por artistas américanos. [...]
