Und Britney Spears gewann in zwei Kategorien
Die deutsche Teenie-Gruppe Tokio Hotel ist bei den MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool als beste Live-Band ausgezeichnet worden. Britney Spears (26) sahnte gleich zweifach ab: „Bester Act“ und „Album des Jahres“.
Tokio Hotel setzte sich in der Kategorie „Beeindruckendste Live-Band auf einem Festival oder auf Tour“ gegen Bands wie Metallica und The Cure durch.
Bereits im September war Tokio Hotel („Durch den Monsun“) bei den MTV Video Awards in Los Angeles als beste Nachwuchsband gekürt worden. Im Oktober setzte die Band ihren Siegeszug bei den MTV Music Awards in Lateinamerika mit mehreren Auszeichnungen fort.
„Wir freuen uns so, es ist verrückt“, sagte Sänger Bill Kaulitz (19) bei der Verleihung in Liverpool. „Ihr seid der Hammer“, dankte er den Fans.
In der zweiten Kategorie „Beste Darbietung aller Zeiten“, in der Tokio Hotel nominiert war, mussten Bill, Tom, Georg und Gustav – der trotz seines Unfalls mit einer Straßenbahn nach Liverpool gekommen war – jedoch dem Briten Rick Astley (42) den Vortritt lassen.
Britney Spears gewann nach ihrem Comeback in den zwei Hauptkategorien: „Album des Jahres“ und „Act 2008“.
Die rund 40 000 Besucher in der „Echo Arena“ mussten sich aber mit einer Videobotschaft der US-Sängerin zufrieden geben: „Es ist so eine Ehre“, sagte Spears, „sorry, dass ich nicht da sein kann, aber lasst es krachen.“

The new Fab Four just love Liverpool!
German teen rock sensations Tokio Hotel carried on their incredible year by landing the best live band gong at the MTV Europe Awards in Liverpool last night. Other big winners included comeback queen Britney Spears, who won two awards – 'Best Act' and 'Album of the Year'.
Tokio Hotel scooped their prize in the 'most impressive live band at a festival or on tour’ category, beating off competition from the likes of Metallica and The Cure.
In September, the young German rockers - whose hits include ‘Monsoon’ - were given the 'Best Newcomer Award' at the MTV Video Awards show in Los Angeles. Their winning streak continued at the MTV Latin Awards in Mexico.
“We are so happy, this is so crazy” said singer Bill Kaulitz (19) during his acceptance speech in Liverpool, famous for being the home of the original 'Fab Four' the 'Beatles'. “You guys are the best,” he told his fans.
Tokio Hotel were also nominated for ‘Best Act of all Time’, but lost out to British pop star Rick Astley (42). The whole group - twins (Bill and Tom Kaulitz, Georg Listing and Gustav Schafer - were all present at the awards, despite drummer Gustav recent crashing his car into a tram in Germany.
Britney continued her huge comeback, winning awards in two of the biggest categories, but was not present on the night and spoke to the 40,000 music fans in Liverpool’s Echo Arena by satellite: “It’s such an honour. Sorry I can’t be there, but have a blast!”
This year marked the 15th anniversary of the MTV Europe Awards show. Fans voted in the different categories by internet and phone and the ceremony was watched by 30 million fans worldwide.

Der Tokio-Hotel-Wahnsinn geht weiter! Dieses Jahr muss Bill, Tom, Georg und Gustav vorkommen wie ein einziger riesengroßer Traum.
Sie geben weltweit ausverkaufte Konzerte, verkaufen Millionen von Platten und schafften dieses Jahr sogar in den USA – dem härtesten Musikmarkt der Welt – den großen Durchbruch.
Sie spielten vor tausenden kreischenden Mädels in Paris und brachten in Mexiko die Fans zum Ausrasten. Und: Sie fliegen von einer Preisverleihung zur nächsten und räumen dort eine Trophäe nach der anderen ab.
2008 gab's für Bill & Co. unter anderem hochkarätige und heiß begehrte Auszeichnungen wie den Echo (in der Kategorie „Bestes Video“ für „Spring nicht“), die Goldene Kamera (in der Kategorie „Beste Musik National“), den Comet (in den Kategorien „Beste Band“, „Bestes Video“ für „An deiner Seite“, „Bester Liveact“ und „Super-Comet“) und MTV-Awards in Los Angeles, Mexiko und Liverpool.
„Ich fühle mich noch ein bisschen unsicher. Das ist so ein großer Preis und ich denke immer noch, wenn ich die anderen sehe, dass wir doch noch die frischen, kleinen Jungs aus Magdeburg sind“, kommentierte Bill von Tokio Hotel den letzten Preisgewinn als „Beste Live Band“ in Liverpool.
Für ihre Fans sind sie das schon lange nicht mehr – Tokio Hotel haben in diesem Jahr den weltweiten Durchbruch geschafft und sind jetzt echte, internationale Superstars!

Mucho se había especulado sobre la credibilidad de unos premios MTV que han puesto de manifiesto, el papel secundario que pasan a jugar los artistas, en detrimento de los Fans, que son juez, parte y los únicos y auténticos ganadores. El fenómeno del voto por Internet es un fracaso, un timo y es algo que debería reducirse a consultas que
revistan menos importancia. Aunque, visto lo visto, quizás sea este el único camino en el que los devaluadísimos MTV Awards puedan continuar existiendo.
La ceremonia arrancó a las 21 horas, con una Katy Perry que apareció en el escenario subida a algo que se asemejaba y estaba a mitad de camino entre un cañón y una barra de labios gigante y desde la que cantó su canción estrella. Posteriormente y para acabar de generar el pánico entre los que miraban la gala con recelo, pudimos comprobar como la californiana, además de cantar, era la encargada de conducir el evento. La 15a entrega de premios se celebraba en Liverpool, pero si hubieran dicho que se trataba de cualquier ciudad estadounidense, todo el mundo lo habría creido. Al parecer, el modelo televisivo por excelencia es el que viene del pais de las barras y estrellas y acompañando a la Srta. Perry en tareas de presentación, estaban los miembros del grupo 30 Seconds to Mars, el infumable Pérez Hilton e incluso Grace Jones, que nadie sabe bien a que se dedica, pero que en estos saraos queda la mar de bien. La presencia europea brillaba por su ausencia. Por si fuera poco, las alusiones al recien elegido presidente de los USA fueron constantes. El recinto Echo Arena es una maravilla y la puesta en escena de los premios fue lo más parecido a un banner Flash gigante. Las actuaciones mostraron un derroche de luz y fantasía incontestable y el público, independientemente de lo que estuviera teniendo lugar, consiguió dotar a la gala de un griterio de fondo sostenido durante toda la noche.
La entrega de premios no deparó sorpresa alguna y ganaron los que se suponía iban a ganar. Los presentadores de la gala se llevaron sus respectivos premios, dos para 30 Seconds To Mars y uno para la Srta. Katy Perry. Britney Spears se llevó dos de los más importantes Awards, el de "Best Album" y el "Best Act 2008". Ver para creer.
Una de las perlas de la noche y que mejor definen la realidad de estos premios fue el Award al mejor "Headliner", que recayó en los alemanes Tokio Hotel. Todos nuestros respetos al grupo, al que queremos y defendemos por activa y por pasiva, pero si tenemos en cuenta, que el resto de bandas nominadas eran The Cure, Foo Fighters, Metallica y Linkin Park; resulta bastante evidente que el factor Fan ha ganado por sí mismo. Tokio Hotel es el único grupo de la lista que no ha hecho un World Tour y la categoría "Headliner" se nos antoja prematura y carente de sentido. El futuro de los germanos es prometedor, pero no pretendamos subirlos a un púlpito que no merecen. Aún necesitan un hervor...
Una de las dudas que teníamos era como iban a plantear los organizadores la entrega del "Best Act Ever". Pues bien, hay que reconocer que lo hicieron correctamente. Una vez reconocido el grave error que suponía poner una categoría con ese título y teniendo en cuenta los rios de tinta en críticas que les había llovido, decidieron hacerlo de manera
que la mayoría de la gente no se diera ni cuenta. Es decir, le cedieron el micrófono al impresentable Pérez Hilton y en pocos segundos y prácticamente sin presentar a los nominados, dijeron con la boca muy chiquita, como cuando uno se levanta en una reunión y dice "voy al lavabo", que el ganador había sido Rick Astley. Opción claramente Chikilicuatre, resultado del apoyo masivo en Internet a modo de protesta.
Poco antes de las 23 horas, salió Bono de los irlandeses U2 para hacer entrega del Award Ultimate Legend a Sir James Paul McCartney, hijo pródigo de Liverpool y testigo vivo de que hubo vida antes de la existencia de la MTV. Premio totalmente merecido el que se le entregó al ex-Beatle ante un público, que se mantuvo por primera vez en la velada relativamente calmado, no en vano, el homenajeado no sale en la Bravo y a muchos le sonó como un intruso. De hecho, lo era...
A eso de las 23:30 la ceremonia se cerró tal cual comenzó, con Katy Perry revolcándose por el escenario. Si al cúmulo de despropósitos que tuvimos ocasión de presenciar no le ponen remedio, presagiamos un futuro bastante negro. Quizás el aclamado Sr. Obama sea la solución. We have a dream too...

We´ve received a lot of sad emails over the last few days from fans asking why they are not allowed to particpate in the Fan Party contest if they are under the age of 16. We have now tried to figure out a way to make it possible for fans under 16 to participate as well! Please read the contest rules below for answers to this and other questions:
1. Fans who are under the age of 16 may not participate in the Fan Party contest - no exceptions (this is due to German law - no way around it).
2. If you are younger than 16 years old you can ask your parents to participate in the contest. In the case they win they can come with you (+ you can also bring one friend) to the fan party. We´ll set up a sperate area for parents in the entrance area of the venue (parents may not enter the fan party though. The reason for this: We want to give as many fans as possible the chance to participate in the event and we don´t want parents to take up fan spots). Every fan under the age of 16 MUST bring their mother / father (siblings, relatives, friends of the family etc. do NOT count). Here is an example: Let´s say Patricia is 14 years old – she can NOT participate in the contest but her mother can and let´s assume she wins a ticket. Now her mother (and only her mother since her details are included on the ticket) can come with Patricia to the fan party. Since the mother won´t take up a spot, Patricia can also bring one of her friends. HOWEVER, if her friend is under the age of 16, her friend also needs to bring her mother or father. Otherwise access will be denied for the friend.
3. When you participate in the fan party contest you need to make sure that all the data you enter is 100% correct - all your details will be included on the Fan Party ticket. The only way you will get access to the fan party is if ALL data on your ticket matches the data in your passport exactly!
4. It is not possible to change the data on your ticket. If you can´t come to the party for some reason your ticket can NOT be transferred to someone else.
5. Anyone who wants to enter the fan party needs to have a passport and their personalized fan ticket!
6. Data of all winners will be saved and available for the people at the door on the night of the fan party (they will double check every single person´s data!).
7. We hope that all these explanations clarify the situation. Please do not contact the venue (Hühnerposten) for any inquiries since they are not involved in the planning of the event.
8. In REALLY urgent cases you can send an email to: TokioHotelFanparty@Gmail.com - please only send sincere inquiries about the fan party (and only about the fan party) to this address. Sein BMW krachte in Magdeburg in eine Strassenbahn

Tokio-Hotel-Drummer Gustav Schäfer auf Crash-Tour!
Der 20-Jährige überholte am Dienstag gegen 15 Uhr in Magdeburg eine Autoschlange, fuhr dabei über eine gesperrte Straßenbahnspur.
Dort wurde sein schwarzer 3er BMW von einer nachfolgenden Straßenbahn gerammt. Das Auto schleuderte auf die rechte Fahrspur, beschädigte noch zwei weitere Autos (BMW,VW).
Mit im Auto saß Katharina Kretschmar (29), die Schwester des SCM-Sportdirektor Stefan Kretzschmar. Dritter Insasse: Denny E. (29) aus Hamburg. Alle drei wurden leicht verletzt und kamen zur ambulanten Behandlung in die Uniklinik in Magdeburg.
Das Verkehrsdelikt bleibt nicht folgenlos: Gegen Gustav wird jetzt wegen fahrlässiger Körperverletzung ermittelt.
Die gute Laune sollte sich der Drummer trotzdem nicht verderben lassen: Am Donnerstagabend ist er mitsamt seinen Band-Kollegen zu Gast bei den European Music Awards in Liverpool. Die Jungs aus Magdeburg sind für zwei Preise nominiert.

Tokio Hotel's clean cut image may have won them millions of fans across the world, but it seems they're far from being the ideal teenage role models - especially drummer Gustav Schafer, who crashed his car into a tram!
The 20-year-old musician was in his BMW 3-Series on Tuesday afternoon in the German city of Magdeburg when the accident happened. He reportedly overtook a line of traffic and drove straight over tram tracks which had been blocked off. His car was then hit by an oncoming tram, skidded into the right lane of traffic and hit two further cars.
Schafer and his two passengers - Katharina Kretzschmar (29), the sister of SCM sport director Stefan Kretzschmar, and Denny E. (29) from Hamburg - were taken by ambulance to hospital, although they were only slightly hurt.
The drummer may still be feeling pain, however, as he is set to be charged with bodily harm due to negligence.
But he shouldn't let it get him down - he will appear with his Tokio Hotel bandmates at the European Music Awards in Liverpool, where they are up for two gongs.
