ENTREVISTA SOBRE SU RECUPERACION

3 abr 2008

Hamburg [dpa] - Tokio Hotel singer Bill Kaulitz expected to begin mid next week with the first exercises to restore his voice.

The rehabilitation will be under «therapy singing aspects» says David Jost, producer of the successful band to the German press agency dpa. "The doctor assumes that Bill's speech and voice probably hasn't changed much from the surgery," added Jost. The 18-year-old singer was operated on his vocal cords last Sunday. After this, the doctors had given him a week of strict silence.

Because of Bill Kaulitz's voice illness, Tokio Hotel had to cancel many performances of their «1000 Hotels» tour in Europe and North America. It's to be expected that the first concert in the United States will now be on the 1st of May in Washington. The band has meanwhile taken a request to appear on a US late night show, according to their producer. «On 28th of April, the boys may be appearing on Conan O'Brien,» said Jost. «At the moment, the set date is still being held by our American record company. Though if Bill hasn't recovered till then, we'll be cancelling this event as well.»

After the throat operation: Bill speaks now in an e-mail interview!

He may not speak! But he still breaks his silence – Bill Kaulitz [18], Tokio Hotel front man. Now he "wrote" his first interview after his throat surgery to the magazine „Vanity Fair“ which will be out on Thursday.

He my seem cool, but if you read between the lines you see doubt!

Bill: "But I still fear for my voice and I also still feel very guilty over it because of the cancelled concerts."

And: "I was under anesthesia and had a wonderful metal rod shoved in my throat, then had my voice cords snipped around on with small knives. Everyone knows that feeling. Man, I am glad that's all behind me."

This week Bill has to go to undergo a voice-rehabilitation to train his golden voice box. But he's not really feeling good about it. Bill ironically: "I'm so totally up for that!"

Already on the 1st of May, Bill Kaulitz will be back on stage again with Tokio hotel in the US. If he can bawl the successful hit "Scream" stays questionable.

Tokio Bill with a wheelchair to his room
From MARK PITTELKAU

Hamburg – „Tokio-Hotel“ singer Bill Kaulitz [18] is on his way to recovery after his surgery.

"15 minutes after the surgery, Bill was brought to the room in wheelchair to wake up from the anesthetics“, explains Bill's twin brother Tom [18]. "Shortly after that I went to see him with my parents. Man, the poor boy looked so confused and lost. He was so out of it."

Was Bill conscious after the surgery?

Tom: "Well, not really. Because of the after effects of the anesthetics for example, Bill can't remember the wheelchair or the switch of rooms."

How does Tom communicate with his brother now?

Tom: "The little notes and little school chalkboard writings didn't last long. Bill a very communicative person; he normally talks all day long with no dot and comma. Notes and chalkboards aren't enough for that. Since yesterday he has been running around the apartment with a huge writing book and that book is almost full."

Fans have sent him endlessly long get well letters and a vaporizer.

Tom: “There was even a neck brace. Someone probably misunderstood what type of operation, but Billi still thought it was totally cute."
